TRON is a decentralized, open-source blockchain platform and cryptocurrency ecosystem, originally launched as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum in 2017. Since 2018, it operates on its own mainnet. Created by Justin Sun and managed by the TRON Foundation (now aligned with Tron DAO for community governance).
